During the time of the pandemic, the cosmetic and beauty industry seems to have evolved and changed. Social distancing meant that people landed-up relating to products differently compared to before.
It is a general assumption that the fragrance industry would have lost some of its shine because of people being limited from going out, but with the power of social media, the opposite has proven true. The female fragrance industry bloomed, becoming more relevant in a sense. This change can be linked back to the fact that a lot of women are finding themselves in career positions that were previously not available to them, opening up their disposable income.
What the latest research has shown is that fragrance itself is no longer the only focus. While many women are now buying a variety of perfumes to wear for different occasions, there is also great interest in how it relates to current trends and cultural movements, namely sustainability and diversity. There is curiosity about the raw materials used in the fragrance oils and if the oils have been tested on animals.
Natchem is very proud to say that as suppliers of fragrance oils from French principals, we can provide certificates stating that the fragrance oils we stock have not been tested on animals. Only the highest quality raw materials are used in the manufacturing of the perfume oils we supply to our customers.
Our EVERCLEAR Ethanol is also manufactured with alcohol that is derived from sugar cane, which is considered as a sustainable source.
Another trend we are seeing evolve is the idea of genderless perfumes. This is seen as making fragrances diverse and inclusive of all types and varieties of people.
